Silas took a sniff of the air. The scent was close. He'd finally found something; he'd found a lost member of a Demon Race. His research had paid off. He'd found more Races, from an older generation, a different set of Demon Races his long-gone predecessors had faced. The Morriga were known as the greatest warriors, so Silas figured they'd make a good Arms Monsters. He looked into the sky above him, and saw crows wheeling in the sky. "13 crows... We're close." Alistair stood by his side, and nodded. Ireland was cold, but it was nothing compared to the mountains where Torchkeep lay.

"Whatever you say, cousin." Rene pulled his jacket tighter around him. He was less knowledgeable on this kind of affair than his baby cousin, so he had no idea why he had been brought along. Still, anything to get out of Torchkeep for a while.

Silas ignored Rene. His uncle Nicolai had all but begged him to bring Rene along, to get him out of Torchkeep for a while. He simply continued watching the crows until one split off and flew off, to the west. Directly over the creepy forest. This didn't quite hit Silas, and he simply marched on into the forest, Alistair close behind.

"Hey, hey, wait!" Rene called. "One of them just went that way!" He had a feeling his cousin wouldn't listen. Again.

"The first one went this way. The Morriga wants us to find her." Silas replied, simply continuing to march into the forest. The interior of the forest was colder than the outside, causing Silas and Alistair's breath to begin to show.

"Well, she could have just done something a little more simple." Rene sighed, following the two even deeper into the forest.

"She's been hiding for centuries; she's not going to simply walk up and say 'Hi, I'm over here.'" Alistair replied after a short pause, during which Silas did not reply. He drew out Headsman and cut down a tree that stood in their way, throwing it aside and continuing to walk.

Rene eyed the fallen tree nervously. They could have just gone around. Ah, well. If they wanted to use the valuable time-honoured traditional axe, let 'em be.

Silas looked up, spying a raven sitting in a tree, watching them. "She's expecting us." He kept walking, Alistair following. When Silas and Alistair were past, the raven looked Rene in the eyes, and croaked a single word: "Nevermore."

Rene cocked his head and looked at the bird in disbelief. "Well, isn't that symbolic." he noted. He knew perfectly well where that image came from: Edgar Allen Poe, the Raven. He'd read it once upon a midnight dreary when he had nothing better to do. He quickly moved away from the raven and caught up with the group.

The raven watched him leave, before taking off and flapping away, deeper into the forest. "She should be at the exact center." Silas replied, watching the raven fly. He changed course, walking in the direction it had flown off in.

"I'm right behind you." Rene said, cautiously observing the raven head deeper into the forest. Though his experience of them was limited, he had realised he didn't trust talking birds, especially ones that were a widely-regarded death omen.

Silas stopped cold, Alistair doing the same. "Show yourself." "And why should I do that?[/a]" A quavering, croaking voice, not unlike the one of the raven that had just addressed Rene, replied. "You have proven nothing." "Then allow me to prove. Test me." Silas called into the wood. "That depends on what you seek. Find me, and we shall see."

"I gotta say, I don't like the sound of where this is going." Despite all evidence to the contrary, Rene still cared about what happened to his cousin. He didn't want Silas to die or get grievously injured yet.

It didn't take much more walking for them to emerge into a clearing, with a circle of stone pillars. "It's almost like Stonehenge..." Alistair muttered. Silas walked forward, stepping into the circle, and looking up at the hundreds of crows wheeling overhead. "I wish to speak with the resident Morriga." Silas called upward into the swarm.
