Mele was still recovering. The sphere had abducted her, and then she woke up back home, with the biggest hangover the human body was physically capable of experiencing. She sat in the small room that the Gekirangers had to themselves within SCRTC headquarters, drinking lots of water.

Karin slumped into the room, exhausted from her training. Ever since Kaito left, she felt that her abilities as as a Gekiranger were lacking. He was the only reason she was able to continue learning Cheetah-ken and not have a problem with it. But now... every time she trained, she only felt tired, like she didn't want to do it anymore. Like she wasn't capable of doing it anymore.
Seeing Mele, waved before sitting down on a chair, idly looking at the ceiling.

Mele waved back. "How's your training going?" She knew Kaito had betrayed them and gone to work for Snow. Why he had was anyone's guess, but Mele suspected he just wanted strength. It was so simple. Why he abandoned his sister to pursue power under a man who would leave him in a burning building the moment he lost his usefulness was beyond her.

"It's going well, I suppose..." she said, not bothering to look at her. "Nothing special. Training is training..."

"Is it something about Kaito?" Mele would have moved over to Karin's side to talk to her about something like this, but she had no energy in her bones.

Karin sighed and looked down. "How could he just leave like that...?" she asked. "And on top of that... it was the day I actually became GekiYellow that he did it too. After he said he'd be there for me..."

"The part I'm the most confused about is that he knows what Snow is like, or at least he should. He should know Snow would happily kill him with his own hands the moment Kaito loses his usefulness, and yet he still turned." Mele said. "We have to move on, though. There's still a chance. We can't afford to lose this fight."

"I'm not good enough to fight... I only just learned Cheetah-ken to become a Gekiranger, yet I'm still far from mastering it. And it doesn't feel like I'm getting any stronger." Karin looked at Mele and frowned. "Maybe I should just quit."

Mele found the energy right then to bolt upright in her chair. "I've trained my entire life to learn Chameleon-ken. My. Entire. Life. And I am far from mastering it. I still have a lot to learn about my own art, and you do too, and that's natural. That's the way of Jyuken. You never stop learning."

"But it's not just that!" she shouted. "I just... I don't have it in me to keep going..."

"Sure you do." Mele replied. "You just don't want to find it. Kaito is gone, yes, but that doesn't mean we have to lose the other sibling too. Your parents loved this art so much they dedicated their lives to it. You know you want to keep doing this, you're convincing yourself you don't."

Karin remained silent, looking back down...

"Karin. I want you to look at me, I want you to look into my eyes, and I want you to tell me you want to quit Jyuken." Mele said, leaning forward. She wasn't resolute, she could tell. This would be the test.

Karin looked Mele dead in the eyes... but try as she might, the words simply would not want to come out of her mouth.

"Exactly what I thought. You need to stop convincing yourself you want out. You know as well as I do you don't." Mele replied.
