A blonde woman wearing sunglasses and a hood pulled over her head rushed through the doors of URSA's public offices. She dashed over to the secretary's desk, out of breath, and slammed her hands down on the table. The secretary jumped when this happened and stared at the bespectacled woman. "Please you've gotta help me" the woman begged in a noticeable Australian accent. "Is there something I can do for you...?" the secretary asked in poor English. The Australian woman held out her hand over the secretary's coffee, which began to warm up till it started to visibly boil. With visible strain the woman managed to stop it before it destroyed the mug and both of them were scalded by the coffee. "Please... help me. I don't know whats going on."

Paul had been forced out of his old lab while it was being rebuilt and renovated. His current lab was a smaller, much more cramped affair, especially after he moved all of his in-progress projects and experimental devices. One of them, which he had left on top of a stack of books, lit up and bleeped. It seemed that something of a psychic nature had entered the URSA building. Fascinating.

The secretary quickly grabbed the phone and made a call to Paul's extension. "Doctor Herbert? There's a woman here who needs assistance. Also, could go call Kureshima-sama?"

"Send her and an escort with the necessary clearance up to Lab Nine." Paul replied. "I'll call Ms Kureshima." He put the phone down and dialed Natsumi's extension. "I need you in the lab. It's presumably important."

A Kurokage escorted her to the lab, but as she walked every piece of glass shattered itself. Likewise the temperature of the general vicinity of her, and only about a thirty foot radius around her. By the time they arrived at lab nine the trooper had already ditched his suit for fear of heatstroke, the leather in his suit being charred, and he was covered in sweat as he handed her off. As the Australian entered the trooper quickly left.

Paul opened the door and stepped back because of the heat. "Step inside."

The nodded and walked in, seemingly unaffected by the scorching scorching heat surrounding her. She pulled her back her goods and removed her sunglasses before introducing herself. "Hi, I'm Valerie" she stammered. "Can you help me?"

Natsumi, having heard the situation, comes down to the lab after getting into one of the fire retardant suits that were in the armory. Having this additional protection, she came in and closed the door behind her, affected in some way by the burning psychic deal, but protected for now.

"Assuming I can find the cause of what's wrong with you." Paul replied, gesturing to a metal chair. "Take a seat."

She did, but as she did so the metal heated. She winced about the heat through her clothing, doing anything to try and stop the heat.

Paul passed Valerie a pair of metal discs attached to wires. "If you'd kindly apply these to your forehead. I seem to have misplaced my heat-resistant gloves."

She nodded and did so, worried. Valerie had no idea what was going on and she was terrified. She tried to avoid the metal parts until they were attached to her, where she showed clear discomfort. As she did the temperature notched up two or three degrees.

Paul immediately checked one of only two monitors. He missed having ten monitors.
"Hmm...increased brain activity." he said, picking up the gadget that had been bleeping previously. "It's too early to say, but this could be an instance of psychic abilities."

"More as in "telepath"." Paul said. "Usually, they are, but every so often the real thing turns up somewhere."
