Alaric had tried to think of something to bring with him. Something related to the past, to the happy times they had had as a family. Nothing came to mind that would be useful right now, not this many years later. Was a bottle of good wine acceptable? Sure, well, he figured it was.
It had taken time to track her down, but he had connections in Deka and outside of it. It had led him to a man named Lorenzo, who had sent him in the right direction. That being said, it was a park with a volleyball net.

Davina had once asked Quinn to show her how to play volleyball, and so that was finally happening. They'd been here for about an hour so far.

The duo were having a lot of fun so far. Bonding to an extent over a now-shared interest. Somewhere in her mind Davi had mused that she might have fallen for the other, if she had swung that way. But for now she was pleased to have the normal Buster's friendship.
Her striking black hair was down, her brown eyes seemed so alive. Her outfit on this day was simply a dark red training shirt and blue jean short-shorts, with breathable white socks and running sneakers. The game of volleyball continues, but a little uneasiness begins to form in Davi's stomach. Like the beginnings of a danger sense.

Alaric stood back and watched for a bit. He hadn't seen his daughter in some time, but he knew who she was. Maybe it was a father's intuition, maybe it was their genetic bond, maybe it was nothing. He just watched for now. She had grown up so much, and it brought pain to his heart, as well as joy.

And that was right. She had grown up a ton on her own. It was only when she stopped, almost all of a sudden, that Quinn would notice something wrong. The volleyball had been launched..and Davina reached up with almost inhuman speed, snatching it out of the air, tossing it back to her volleyball partner lightly.

Quinn caught the ball, "There's someone back there watching us," she told Davina. It could be nothing, just someone watching them play, but it was weird.

"I felt it, somehow. Did you get a look at him?" She figured this would be a good test, while not really a test.

"Well, he's still back there," she said, "I can see him."

She moves to stand beside Quinn, and looks back in the direction the other pointed. "Sunuvabitch." she muttered under her breath.

"I take it you know him?" she asked.
Great, this wasn't the way he wanted things to start...he already knew this wasn't going to be good.

"That's my biological father." She deadpanned, to Quinn. "The one I emancipated myself from. To think he'd show up now..."

Screw it. Alaric sighed and headed towards them.
"Well, you can more than take care of yourself," Quinn told her, patting her on the back as she left.

"Thanks for the vote of confidence, friend." She waves and watches Quinn leave for a moment before turning back to face the taller man, crossing her arms over her chest. "Hello, old man. What do you want?" The icy smile might remind him of her mother, while the coldness make the tips of every word hurt just a little."

"Well, I can see I was right, you don't want to see me," he said as he stopped a few feet from her, "Can't say I blame you there."

"You're wise not to blame me." Davi said calmly. "Because I didn't particularly want to see you today. But since you're here, answer my question." Her calm, almost cold demeanor would be noticed, along with probably the brace on her left wrist.

"It's kind of obvious. I wanted to see my daughter," he said, "Emancipated or not, you're still my flesh and blood. And your mother's as well." He noticed, but said nothing.
