In the Office [OPEN]

[Natsumi Kureshima]

The office door opens and she walks in, having her lunch with her in two boxes.  Clearing out a space on the desk, she sits down and begins to eat, having left the door open.  As such, she doesn't immediately see whoever appears at the door.

[Seto Arai]

Seto had been on patrol duty for URSA's main HQ for a week because of the increasing presence of monsters (not that the place really needs any real protection) and he has began to grow bored and impatient with his job. Being a wielder of a Sengoku Driver, Seto did not see the point of wasting his time babysitting URSA from a highly unlikely monster attack.

It was his lunch break and Seto needed to find a place to sit down and eat his fruit salad. As he strolled through hallways and corridors, he came across Kureshima's office, door wide open and in the office was the eponymous woman seemingly on her own free-time, which caused him to slow himself to a snail's pace.

She was alone and Seto couldn't help but take a glance at his rather gorgeous superior that didn't seem to have noticed him being at the entrance. He contemplated about talking to the boss so he could be one her good side and for a more interesting assignment other than guard duty, but decided against it lest he be fired. He was planning on walking off, but his gaze was glued on the Kureshima woman that he did not anticipate bumping into the wide-open door in front of him with a soft thud, knocking him out of his trance.

[Natsumi Kureshima]

Her eyes shoot up and look at him. "Oh, Trooper." she greeted tersely, casually. "Something to report?"

[Seto Arai]

Seto immediately freezed up, remembering about yesterday's inccident with the Fangire Rider as well as the fact that the Field Leader was going to chew him out for his misconduct. He assumed she forgot about it due to the whole ordeal being focused on other issues and his thoughts of Kureshima being a mistress immediately changed to a devil.

Of course, Seto took absolutely no chances of lying to his boss. "Um...Miss Kureshima...about yeaterday's screwup on my behalf..."

This was gonna suck for him.

[Natsumi Kureshima]

Sighing as she stands up, looking straight at him and placing her hands squarely on the desk. "What the hell were you thinking, Arai? You don't just go into a situation like that without using your brain!" Struck her as the stereotypical brat, this one. Nice looks, but very little mental capability to go with it.

[Seto Arai]

Seto did not bothering make eye contact. "Miss, what was I suppose to do? There was something going on in that Castle monument and our scanners picked up something? Besides, I was trying to help them fight that glass-stained monster and not once did I show ANY hostility to that emperor guy!"

"Now that I think about, why hasn't anyone warned us that the emperor hates us?!"

[Natsumi Kureshima]

"Call it in and let the higher-ups handle it. You're a trooper. That doesn't put you above the troopers that don't have a Driver. You follow orders, and you do as you're told." Natsumi gave. "I do not have to explain myself to you, but I will say that no one would have dared to do this when my father was here. I'm going to confer further up the chain, and see what an appropriate punishment will be for you. Don't think you're off the hot seat yet."

[Arata Nakagawa]

Arata whistled as he strolled down the hall. He wanted to talk to this particular overzealous trooper, because he'd managed to almost start a war and get himself killed. That took a special level of incompetence. He turned a corner, seeing the man of the hour standing in a doorway.
"Seto Arai?" He asked, walking towards him.

[Seto Arai]

"But Miss-!" Seto protested, but he was immediately cut off when he heard someone called his name, prompting him to turn around. Upon seeing Nakagawa, his heart stopped beating. "Ch-ch-chief Nakagawa!!!"

[Natsumi Kureshima]

"Speak of the higher-ups and they come.." Natsumi remarked, greeting the Chief with a bow of her head. "I just returned from salvaging an agreement that my father brokered. We're on..thinner ice than we were before."

[Arata Nakagawa]

"Trust me, I heard. Now, Arai-kun, care to explain why you were within 15 miles of Doran's Grave a full two days before the patrol was scheduled? Do you know how close you came to annihilating URSA?" Arata maintained a friendly demeanor, a smile on his face and in his tone, yet the venom behind his words was quite obvious.

[Seto Arai]

Seto sweatdropped, being fully aware that the Intelligence Chief was pretty at what he's done. He replied. "Sir, I figured it would be a good idea to carefully watch over some of the hotspots in any case of random kaijin attacks since...well...since they started showing up again."

It was not his week. "And...yes, thanks to my recklessness I almost ended up screwing URSA over and I...apologize for that, sir. But I really did not mean any harm towards the Fangire Rider."

[Natsumi Kureshima]

"Whatever you did or did not mean, it didn't come across very well. Apologies don't go very far in a world of war." Natsumi gave, clearly ticked still. The trooper had shown some initiative, but should have cleared it with the chain of command first. "Normally I'd go for stripping you of the Driver and assigning you to a desk somewhere...or having you executed for treason, but since you showed some misguided initiative, I'll defer to whatever our Intelligence Chief decides you should go through."

[Arata Nakagawa]

"The Order of the Emperor is responsible for keeping, at our best estimate, almost 65 to 70% of all the Fangires in the world calm. If you'd managed to piss off the Emperor, all of those Fangire and the Order's considerable resources would be dedicated to wiping out URSA." Arata said. "Although his crime is grave, execution for treason is not the proper response. Charges of treason would imply he was actively helping our enemies, and he didn't know what he was doing. Here's what I propose; probation. For the next, let's say, 12 months, he would require the approval of an immediate superior, say Ms. Kureshima here, and a high-echelon officer, say me. That was we can ensure he truly needs to transform."

[Seto Arai]

Seto was silent and merely nodded.
