The Basics
Name: Thomas Fleming
Age: 31
Sex: Male
Species: Slightly Cybernetic "Post-Human"
Date Of Birth: 29th February 2880 (aka the distant future)
Nationality: “That far into the Earth's future? Please...”
Hometown: "What did I just say?"
Occupation: TPD Field Commander
Alignment: Neutral Good (would be lawful, but keeping track of history is a messy business)
Theme Song:
Outer Stuff
Face Claim: Arthur Darvill
Height: 5'11
Weight: 158 lbs
Hair color: Blondish-Brown. Sometimes lighter, sometimes darker.
Hair style: Short, often messy. When longer he tends to give it a side-parting
Eye color: Blue
Skin color: Caucasian
Posture: Casual, except when the boss is around...
Scars/ Tattoo’s/ Other markings: There is a slight seam around the circumference of his right wrist. Passes for a scar.
Accessories: Unless you count his body alterations, nothing much.
Clothes: Ordinarily the uniform of a TPD operative. He does however have a knack for blending into other time zones. He prefers to NOT wear red all the time but needs must.
Anything Else? Has your standard cybernetic replacement eye, perfectly attuned to picking out historical abnormalities. Looks the same as a normal eye... unless you get close enough to notice the blood vessels are actually circuit pathways. He also has a false arm, which may or may not contain a good old fashioned projectile-based gun (it does, by the way).
In the biological department, he has a specialized gland which he can use to produce varying strengths of chemical cocktails, most with no adverse effects. In his part of the world this is not that uncommon. Practical upshot? He can self-medicate a painkiller if he felt he needed it. (It helps during tough missions, don't you know.) It's not limited to painkillers of course as he can tweak the balance to his heart's desire, but he doesn't mess with it too much unless he knows exactly what he's trying to accomplish.
Inner Stuff
Likes:
- "I'm not a bad guy, really!" - Having been thrown out of places for little more than minding his own business, Thomas knows he has a very punchable face. However he likes it when people actually try and respect him instead.
- Trashy 28th century holodramas. "There's just something special about that era of film. You wouldn't understand."
- Extraterrestrial music. "I've heard pretty much all the earth has to offer, from multiple time periods and even an aborted timeline or two. I get bored."
Dislikes:
- Chronal lawbreakers.
- Historical inaccuracies and deviation from the timeline.
- The gung ho, do before you think kind of hero. They have no idea the kind of mess they can make of space-time and that pisses him off.
Strengths:
- Being able to visualize the flow of time through his cyber eye really does help sometimes.
- Advanced knowledge and training regarding the butterfly effect, ripple propagation, and probability management. Necessary prerequisite for command roles.
- Thomas is responsible. If he screws something up, he'll doggedly follow through until the problem is as near as solved.
- Evolved biology - Can work for extended periods of time by glanding a caffeine analog or dullng his sense of pain. He, like many people in the future, is nearly totally immune to many of the viruses and diseases common in early centuries.
Weaknesses:
- Has an unfortunate tendency to assume there's good in everyone.
- His relative inflexibility has sometimes led to more timeline damage than he cares to admit.
- Occasionally he'll be put out of commission for ignoring the maintenance schedule of his cybernetic implants.
Goal(s):
- To apprehend Agent Abrella.
- To set history on the proper course.
- To figure out exactly what his little brother is working on, and ensure he isn't getting into any trouble over it.
Habits/ Quirks:
- Likes to feel the soil of a new time period between his fingers. Though he insists it's all about practicality and ensuring they've arrived where they should have, it's more of a personal "I'm here, I'm alive and this place isn't an illusion" kind of thing. He'll also insist that he can gauge what's wrong with time this way, but that's a fat load of billhooks.
Relationships:
- Captain Malcolm Daniels - TimeFire - A mentor figure... of sorts.
- Miranda Wells -TimePink - He's got a bit of a thing for her, but don't tell.
- Sharon Fleming - Big Sister. Nothing much to say except, while they don't get on, she's always looked out for him.
- Arthur Fleming - Little Brother. The golden boy... though Thomas is getting rather suspicious of his brother's research.
Overview: Thomas Fleming is a dedicated man, he'll follow you to the ends of time if he thinks it'll help. He believes he wants nothing more in life to keep the timeline straight, when in truth he needs what any of us needs.. stability, love, hope, dreams. Mind you, he can be a little too dedicated to his job. Other than that he is a surprisingly relaxed individual. He hates it when people pass him over for promotion, ignore him on the street, or purposefully go out of their way to ignore his plans. He especially hates people fawning over someone else when he's done all the hard work and will thus do anything for due recognition. For this reason, he is immensely proud of inheriting Series Red from Malcolm. It's as though someone final recognized his efforts.
Hero Stuff
Name: Second Generation Chronal Expedition Battle Suit, Series Red; "TimeRed"
Type Of Hero: Ranger
Henshin Device: Chrono Changer
Henshin Sequence: Thomas places his thumb on the Changer's screen so it can scan his bio-signature. He then presses the larger middle button below the screen, sending forth the Wells Particles contained within, forming his suit. The bio-signature is unlocked once the user dies, allowing the next person to use the Changer to become the next registered user. A user can also temporarily be issued his Changer, but can only hold it permanently with consent from the Department. The Changer, no matter what period in time the user is, can communicate with the Institute HQ and with each other. It can also be used to detect disturbances in time, though to a degree.
Forms:
- Form Name: TimeRed
Image/ Description: Here
Motif: Time
Color Scheme: Red, black, white, silver.
Transformation: See above
Fighting Style: Measured would be the word. He's a planner. But if he has to get his hands dirty he makes quick, critical strikes, looking to disable the mutant opponent as swiftly as possible.
Weapons: Arrow Vector, Spark Vector and VolBlaster
Abilities: Along with the boosted all around stats, the suits provide HUD and a linkup to the Institute's mainframe (though certain information needs special authorization), as well as a targeting system, infrared, and night vision. The suits actively monitor the user's health levels and allow the user to be unaffected by any drastic changes in the timeline. The only downside to the suit is that needs a certain amount of charge time to rebuild the Wells Particles in order to be used again. The Wells Particles can be used up in battle, causing the user to revert back to their pre-transformed state.
Finisher(s): The Arrow Vector and Spark Vector can be joined to create the Twin Vector. Some of the special attacks that can be performed are Vector Slash with the Spark Vector as well as the Twin Slash attack, which are a variety of double sword-based attacks such as Vector Hurley and Vector End (By slashing in two directions in the symbol of a clock such as Vector End Beat Six is slashing between the 12 and 6 symbols and Vector End Beat Cross, slashing between the 3 and 9 positions and then the 12 and 6 positions).

History
Thomas Fleming is a middle child with a bossy older sister, Sharon, who often gets her way, and a genius younger brother, Arthur, who everyone fawns over.
In fact, Arthur being the first certified genius in the family, they simply had to cultivate his talent. He got all the extra tuition, all the chances Sharon and Thomas never got. Until his brother was born, Thomas had always the center of attention, but as the kid grew up one thing became clear to him... no one was going to give him anything for free, not even his parents. Nevertheless, he took it quietly in his stride, never gunning for attention, never trying to out do anyone... At least that's what he told himself.
In truth he did all he could to join the Chronos Institute. He hoped that someone, somewhere, would praise him for his hard work and dedication to the cause. He even went so far as to have a cybernetic eye installed, in part to boost his test scores as well as giving him the edge he needed. Nothing illegal about it, but when you come from a family who believe in only biological advancements ...
Thomas was accepted in no time at all, and, as expected, no one batted an eyelid. "Good job, son. Did you know your brother found a new method of..." No matter, he thought, I don't need their praise. I've already proved myself. But from then on he vowed to find someone who'd appreciated him.
As a cadet of the Institute, he met Malcolm Daniels, the then current user of the red series second gen expedition suit. Captain Daniel's took him under his wing, as a sort of apprentice. It was Malcolm who taught him to believe in himself, and to not take the approval of others so seriously. Inheriting the red morpher was the final "go for it, buddy".
With the honour of being TimeRed all his, Thomas has some of his confidence back. Now if only he could extend that confidence to his personal life.
