Overview:
A cunning, manipulative and secretive individual Shinji’s only priority is the protection of humanity and ensuring that those that wish them harm are quickly exterminated. Originally he killed those that had the potential to become Agitos because of his past relation with the Linto and how they became corrupted because of the power of Agito, however since his fight with the last Agito Shinji had a lot of time to think and he now wants to see the ‘infinite evolution’ that could occur if the Seed of Agito continues to bloom. Therefore he no longer kills those that hold that power, but he closely observes them to see if they would become a threat to humanity.
His feelings towards organizations such as URSA is neutral, he understands that they are there to protect humanity from the Kaijins. But at the same time he doesn’t trust that they will do the job properly and although he may be allied to them, he can easily turn against them if he believes that they are threatening humanity and no longer protecting it.
Against Kaijins he is ruthless. Seeing them as scums and nothing more then pests not to mention a big threat he orders his Lords to relentlessly pursue them no matter what their agenda may be, therefore he despises them and hopes for a world without Kaijins though he knows that there will always be something.

History
The Overlord of Darkness has existed since the beginning of time, according to some historians he was perhaps the being responsible for creating humanity in the first place alongside his brother. However as time went on the two brothers disagreed on how humanity should progress, this led to a fight between them as ‘Light’ and ‘Darkness’ waged war against one another with ‘Darkness’ eventually winning the war as the Linto, humans who fought against them became the Gurongis and continued to harass humans perhaps out of spite.
This led to the Lords fearing those that had the Seed of Agito, the potential to become greater than them and potentially destroying humanity, therefore throughout history they continued to kill those that had the potential in order to protect humanity.
During the Rider-Shocker War the Lords were still fighting against the Lintos and those that held the Seed of Agito; many of their members were killed by Kamen Rider Agito until even the Overlord of Darkness fought against him personally. The battle was harsh and brutal with both sides gaining advantage over another repeatedly until Agito wounded the Overlord of Darkness to near fatal levels forcing him to retreat.
At the end of the war Agito vanished, no one knowing what happened to him, as the Overlord recovered from his injuries and his disciples multiplied until they were back to where they were before the war. During this time he began to contemplate on whether humanity should allow the Seed of Agito to blossom: on one hand it could fall into the wrong hands and potentially destroy humanity; but on the other hand it could also be used for good and further progress them to beyond what he originally had for them.
After a long time he finally decided: he would continue to protect humanity like he had done for all these centuries, but would allow the Seed of Agito to flourish as he wanted to see if they could bring forth a new era. Taking on the identity of Shinji Yakamura he created a corporation that would help those that wish to protect/advance humanity while using it as a disguise for his works in the shadow.
