Overview:
Will is a man who always remains composed and calm. He rarely acts rashly, and almost always has a plan in mind. He’s refined, and likes to speak of life and things that matter. He has a high sense of honor and chivalry about himself, and will do anything to try to protect anyone, but especially women.
In battle, he has a habit of taking lead, or tries, at least. This isn’t true about his normal life, however, as he sees himself as a follower more than anything. He feels that his composed manner helps to formulate plans while the leader leads. Yes, that is contradictory, but he can’t help himself in battle, finding himself confused with what role to take. However, if an actual leader is leading, he has no problems.
He has a bit of a dry sense of humor, can act like a jerk sometimes – unintentionally – and is a romantic at heart. He became a Ranger because he has the drive to protect people, and wants to save as many as he can from any threat. Being smart and studious, he thought he would become a doctor, but chose this life instead to spare another the hardships of fighting.
He tries to have another life, but often finds himself failing to do so. This is far more important to him, and it usually gets in his way. When he does manage to do normal things, his mind always drifts back to his Ranger duties, and the threats that exist out there. It eats at him, and makes him only truly find solace in his teammates, because at least they’re similar.

History
Will was born in a household with a somewhat neglectful father who was an author. His father often drank and would be abusive sometimes to Will. Will had a younger brother named Steven, but Steven didn’t make it past three, partially because of their father.
As Will grew to fifteen, his father died of liver failure. They had some money that their father hadn’t drunken away, so they had some support. His mother remarried right away, but he didn’t like his new step-father that much, so it didn’t affect him too much.
His step-father encouraged him to do the best he could in life. He himself was a doctor, and Will respected that much of him. He came to respect the man more and more as he grew, and finally began to push himself towards that path, with his step-father’s help.
Being a doctor, being able to save lives. That was truly the life he had come to want. He couldn’t help his brother, but now maybe he could help others. But then everything changed when the Zangyack attacked.
Following the attack he realized that people like him were needed more than ever, to help with the wounded. As he continued his studies and his work, he one day encountered a man and a ship, and was given the powers to protect people directly as Celestial Red.
He abandoned med school for now so he could fight. If he could stop people from being injured, then maybe it would all be worth it.
