History
Akira Maeda comes from a long lines of famous detectives in the Maeda Family. When she was just two years old, her parents died in the crossfire during a large battle in New York, and she was sent to live with her grandfather in Japan once it had ended. She recieved a private education while there, and was also recieving training on how to continue their legacy as a famous detective. In order to help with that, she began reading detective novels and idolized the protagonists. However, as she got older, she realized how male-dominated the field was. To counter this (and also, because she liked more boyish things than girly things), Akira began dressing as and acting like a male, and when her grandfather passed away, she entered public school.
When she got caught up in a particularly dangerous case at the age of 16, she met Shotaro Hidari, a renowned detective in his own right. Finding about her lineage, he took her under his wing, and she even began assisting in some cases. When he finally had nothing left to teach her, he gave her a white hat owned by his own mentor, telling her to "wear it when you become a true man," as ironic as it was for her to hear that. After high school, she began helping police detectives all around the nation, gaining the reputation of the "Detective Prince". Even though she's still younger than most detectives, and she still gets underestimated, she sets her sights on becoming a world-famous detective.
