Overview:
First and foremost, Kai cares about his comrades and the people in his life. He will give anything for them, even his own life, as foolish as that is, since his survival is important to the Shinkenger mission. He's selfless and compassionate, probably too much for his own good. But despite his importance, he views the team as his family and puts them very much ahead of himself.
He's cool and reserved, but also a passionate man, one with a heart for justice and the right thing. He's driven by duty, honor, and loyalty. All of this is very important to him, and he lives his life by those virtues, trying to be the best man he can be.
He's willing to bear everything for his time, and relieve everyone of suffering. He's not much of one for smiling, but does gladly show gratitude and the like to those around him. The only real time he'll smile is with Rei, and he cares very much for her, although does his best not to put her above the others. If he'll lay down his life, he needs to make sure he's not sacrificing it for her for no reason other than the personal connection.
He's dedicated and spends a lot of time training with his sword, mind, body, and Mojikara control. Due to all of his training he's surpassed the point of being a normal Shinkenger and goes straight to Super ShinkenRed. He also spends a lot of time working with the family corporation to help fund things, and to keep the people employed. He cares about all of them. Due to these commitments he often doesn't have time in his life for much else. He wishes he had a bit more time for things, but his duty comes above most else.

Transformation: See above. Due to the sheer amount of Mojikara he has, he goes straight to Super and CAN'T revert back.
Fighting Style: His fighting style is based on swift movements and conserving energy. He usually keeps his blade in one central place and will move it minimally to block and counter, only then going into more energy wasting movements for a swift kill strike.
Weapons: Rekka Daizanto[/ur], Shinkenmaru, but it lacks the black box.
Abilities: Increased stats beyond a normal Shinkenger

History
Kai was born to a father who wasn't a Shinkenger, but had Mojikara control, and his mother, who was the former ShinkenRed and a Shiba, Natsumi Shiba. His mother ran Shiba Acquisitions, a company formed by her father, which served to bring income to the Shibas and Shinkengers, so most of his time was spent with his father and others who were loyal to his mother, including the other Shinkengers.
He learned swordsmanship and Mojikara control from them as his primary education, with actual education coming secondary. It was still important, and he was pressured to do well in everything. At first it looked like he was doing well and balancing it masterfully, but when he was seven and using actual blades and Mojikara creations, he seriously burned his back during a training session involving fire.
He took things a little slower from that point on, primarily at the urging of his mother, whom had finally come to see him. She told him how important everything was, and tried to explain to him why she was never there for him. He took her words and believed her, and decided that he needed to make her proud for the next time she would show up.
He continued for a few more years, until another incident when he was fourteen. He lost control of his fire, but was uninjured. However, one of the people helping to train him was burned alive, dying a horrible, screaming death. Kai considered killing himself, but his mother kept him from doing so. She told him that he was needed to fight the Gedoushu and to lead the next generation of Shinkengers. After some time she managed to pull him from his despair and make him fight on.
When he was twenty three, she died in battle. He took up her mantle and slew the Gedoushu who killed her, or so he thought. Not long after, a Gedoushu with the same form appeared, bringing into question if he'd avenged his mother. And then another, and another. No matter how many times he killed it, another appeared later on. The Gedoushu were clearly up to something.
He took up his mother's position in the company, relieving his father from that duty. He attempted to balance everything, and his father offered to help in the company, but Kai wouldn't have it. When the team started to come together under his leadership, he met Rei Yoshida and began a relationship with her.
About a year and a half ago, his Mojikara control became great enough that every time he transforms he goes straight to Super ShinkenRed, without need for the Inroumaru.
A few months ago, Zangyack attacked, and he helped fight back. Now he's watching both threats, the Zangyack from space, and the Gedoushu from hell.
