Exploring URSA [Open]

[Iris Trochu]

Ravinn had urged her to take him with her, but Iris wanted to simply see the base, so she didn't need him nor his guardianship.  She was fine walking through here alone, seeing how URSA operations worked.  She was going to give whatever help she could to the organization, as much help as her position still afforded her to give out.  How much that was, she had no idea.

GAIA, or Shocker (why were people still fooling themselves into thinking this wasn't Shocker?) had seized more and more of France following Iris's rescue.  She felt for her people, but she couldn't do much.  URSA knew about the threat in France, but they had other issues to deal with as well.  She couldn't ask them to drop it for her people.

Iris stopped and looked at a picture on the wall.  It was a framed photograph of some of the Oni Riders, with Hibiki, taken around 2005.  She walked on.

[Shinji Yakamura]

Shinji was at URSA headquarters after meeting with some URSA-related stakeholders, they wanted to discuss about the fundings that Yakamura Bank was giving them and whether it was possible to have more of it. Shinji told them that their performance, while excellent, was far below what he had expected and that they needed to pick up the pace if they wanted more funding. Needless to say that they were unhappy with it, but they couldn't argue against one of their key funding allies so they left it at that as Shinji let them chew on their current predicament.

Being an immortal being he had seen the rise and fall of human empires, seen many things that people had forgotten or chose to forget, and have befriended many people that eventually passed away while he continued to live on. He felt nothing at the time and still feel nothing, but he wondered what humanity would achieve in the next 10, 20 or even 30 years; it was amazing what humans can do when they put their mind to it.

He walked through the hallway and observed the various photos of Riders that fought during the Rider-Shocker War...he had been on the other side of the battlefield destroying any humans that contained the Seed of Agito while fighting against Agito himself; at that time he had lost and that defeat let to his reflection which led to his current situation. He wondered what it would have been like if he had fought with the Riders in the first place, would Agito have survived and still be here today? He didn't know as he looked longingly at the photo of Agito alongside Kuuga as a wry chuckle came from him.

Iris came to a slow stop beside the man and looked at the picture, "Kuuga," she said with some disdain in her voice. She had been forced to be a living weapon for Shocker, but it had rejected her, thankfully. She was nobody's tool or pawn, and thankfully something had saved her. She wasn't sure if it was her body being strong, or if the Arcle had chosen that she was too weak for it.

She looked at the man standing there, "Are you an URSA official?" she asked him. His manner of dress made her think he could be, but he seemed young, so she wasn't sure. She just needed to find someone to speak to.

Shinji heard someone called out Kuuga's name, but not with respect, as he turned to see a woman looking at the picture. She looked to be of European origin as he wondered who she was. She certainly wasn't an employee of URSA that was for sure as she then asked him if he was an URSA official as Shinji laughed. "No, no I wish I was," he remarked, "I'm one of their stakeholders actually," he replied as he replaced the picture back on the wall, "did you know Kuuga?" he asked, "Your tone however does sound you're not pleased to see him here."

[Iris Trochu]

"It's a long story," she said, though decided to give at least part of it, "He destroyed Paris during the war. I'm French. Obviously there's some bad blood there." The less who knew about her being a living weapon (for at least a time), the better.

[Shinji Yakamura]

"Tch typical of him," Shinji said, "he never was careful with his powers." The last Kuuga he met was basically drunk on power, sure he saved a lot of people and killed a lot of Kaijins, his tribes included, but he had a lot of collateral damage under his belt and that was what Shinji hated about him. "I'm sorry to hear Paris is gone, I've been there before...it was a beautiful town," he said to Iris.

[Iris Trochu]

"I don't remember it," she said. She looked at him, "You don't seem like you'd be old enough to remember it," she said, "No offense. I imagine we'd have been around the same age, like, one or two years old..."

[Shinji Yakamura]

Shinji smiled, "Looks can be deceiving," he said. He underwent numerous disguises throughout his entire life and he naturally always looked young, he went as a woman one time and one time only as he found that the female anatomy was very annoying, as he looked at her, "So what are you doing here at URSA headquarters? Looking for a job?"

[Iris Trochu]

She shook her head, "My name is Iris Trochu, I am the daughter of the President of France. I was rescued from a coup attempt launched by Shocker, or, well...GAIA. I'm here now to do what I can to aid URSA, and at the moment I'm just looking around."

[Shinji Yakamura]

"Ah...Shocker, or GAIA, yes they have been running around in Europe haven't they? Quite the annoyance," as he remembered his tribes had reported it and he told them to simply keep watching. He wondered if he should begin covert strikes on them, after all they were a threat to humanity and it is his duty to protect humanity from their kind, "I"m sorry to hear that...it must have been terrifying to be kept hostage," he said.

[Iris Trochu]

She nodded, "It was. I only had one person I could trust, and he wasn't able to help me. URSA had to assist, but...but two of them betrayed us and I was nearly abducted by them. From one hell to another. But they saved me and now I'm here."

[Shinji Yakamura]

"It seems URSA has a lot of problems it seems," Shinji said, "I'm disappointed in them. I had hopes that they would resolve any issues effectively," as he took out a lighter and began opening and closing it to calm himself down.

[Iris Trochu]

"To be fair, they weren't URSA members. They were just...hired by URSA. I guess that doesn't make it a lot better," she muttered.

[Shinji Yakamura]

Shinji chuckled, "No it doesn't," he said bluntly, "but I suppose we can't blame them. They're humans after all and humans make mistakes...so how will you help URSA? Political support? Financial? Join a Rider division?"

[Iris Trochu]

"Political and financial. I'm no warrior," she told him, "But with France under siege by Shocker, I don't know how much I can truly offer," she admitted.
