Fighting Spirit (Mayu)

[Shinji Yakamura]

Shinji stood on top of a rubble as he panted lightly, it had been another fight against GAIA forces and they had prevailed yet again. However he could not be sure how many more enemies were still out there, for all he know it could be an endless stream. But he wasn't going to give up, he couldn't give up, as he had promised Iris that he would help her retake France and he never backed out of his promise. It was still a long way to France, but they were making progress and that was what counted. As long as they were making progress then they could continue on fighting as he looked around to see his Lords quietly going forward to soften the next enemy defence, he was glad that the Lords were fighting with everything they got and his Els were also helping by stopping any reinforcements from reaching France.

A Leopard Lord approached him and whispered to him their latest report, "Good keep on going and stay hidden, I don't know how others would react if the Lords are seen fighting against GAIA. I don't want any unnecessary casualties," he said to it as it nodded before quickly vanishing again. Sighing he laid on the floor and tried to regain his breath, it had been a while since he had fought this hard and he actually found it quite exhilarating as he laughed out loud and grinned.

[Mayu Inamori]

An armored figure approaches, still clad in the raiment of battle, since that wasn't far removed. It was a beautiful form, really. Eternity Style. Her ultimate evolution had been quite the force on the battlefield She takes a moment to lean on her AxeCalibur and look at him before a golden crystal seal rolls up her body, returning her to human form, with her letting out a sigh.

[Shinji Yakamura]

Shinji looked up to see Mayu there as he sat up, "Mayu are you okay?" he asked as he wondered how she fared during the fight. He rarely met her because of him commanding the Lords with various orders and he had been trying to avoid her partially because he didn't know how to talk to her. It was hard because of her similarity to his deceased lover, but at the same time he wanted to be closer to her...it was really a hard thing to do.

[Mayu Inamori]

"I'm fine. This battle was rather nostalgic. You were always elsewhere though...ignoring little old me?" Mayu gave, insightful old eyes reading you a little easier than most would. She'd been mainly left to her own devices, and her magic had done a lot of damage to the enemies.

[Shinji Yakamura]

"Oh? Nostalgic how?" Shinji asked as he chuckled, "Not ignoring you...okay maybe, but not for the reason that you think it is. Just busy doing some...business," he said as he always thought that she could somehow read him easier than most people could. Is it because she looked like her? Or was it something else? It didn't matter to the Overlord as long as he could just see her face-to-face.

[Mayu Inamori]

"I fought in the war, remember? Against the kaijin, and those who directed them." Mayu gave, chuckling a bit. "Sou ka. So you had business to take care of. I suppose I could handle myself after all."

[Shinji Yakamura]

"Oh yes I forgot...I apologise, but memories just seem to merge and form into one over time if you've lived as long as I have," Shinji said, "and some...just seem to disappear," before Maya's chuckling snapped him back to reality, "if you were in trouble and called for me I would have been there to save you."

[Mayu Inamori]

"You're rather fixated with that long life thing." She pointed out. "Perhaps you should try living in the now." Crossing her arms underneath her bust, Mayu would add, "I had it handled, but it still would have been nice to see you." Her deceptively young looking face would take on a semblance of a pout, just like the one of old had.

[Shinji Yakamura]

Now it was Shinji's turn to chuckle, "You don't know how many people have told me the same thing...but it's hard not to think about the past, the past is a nice thing to always think about...it helps in not thinking about the difficulties of the present," he said. She then pouted and said something as the similarity struck again as Shinji was left dazed and looking at her.

[Mayu Inamori]

"I suppose that's where we're different. The past is something to learn from, but not something to dwell on. For if you are trapped in the past, you cannot face your future. For me, I've accepted everything and moved forward, like a great man once taught me."

[Shinji Yakamura]

"Ah is that so...perhaps I could learn a lesson or two from you. I've tried to look towards the future, but each time I do it feels like it's going to consume me and I am fearful of what I would become if I am consumed by it...I'm sure the term 'with great powers comes with great responsibilities' from that movie...you know the one about a spider or something; well I suppose I'm still getting used to it even though I should by now and I'm just rambling at this stage..."

[Mayu Inamori]

"Even if it wasn't from a movie, that line still has great importance." Mayu looks at him. "I share a similar situation. I'm a mage from the war. From before that. I could be among one of the most powerful mages left. But, I don't let it go to my head. Power is a tool..it's how the person who has it uses it, that's important."

[Shinji Yakamura]

"I suppose you are right..." Shinji said, "I've had a talk to Iris about power before we left. I warned her not to let the power get to her head and that she should be responsible in the usage of her Rider form...I still worry about whether or not she'll become the balancer in Europe or not."

[Mayu Inamori]

"Saa na." Mayu shrugs. "I'm here to fight the enemies of the people. Kaijin...humans if they're Riders and violent. Though I don't like the latter. What happens after its said and done is her business. Unless she starts dabbling in magic, or forbidden magic."

[Shinji Yakamura]

"Are all mages like you? Not having a care about what happens to humanity as a whole? All I've seen of mages are that they're obsessed over magic and have little interaction with other people."
