Fighting Spirit (Mayu)

[Mayu Inamori]

"I don't let myself get involved in sectarian struggles, Shinji. I act on my own and protect people where I can. Bring hope where I can. I am not a politician. I make things happen. A woman of action. If I were obsessed over magic I would be no better than the White Wizard of old, that caused the Sabbath."

[Shinji Yakamura]

"A lone wolf...much like I am," Shinji said getting up and dusting off his clothes, "I suppose we work to the same goal, but in different ways. While you work in the light and work directly with people I am more...secretive in how I do things," he said, "I work in the shadows and I am used to using diplomacy, espionage, intrigue and the occasional assassination in order to get what I want. I am like you, a man of action, and I act on things before they can bloom and cause chaos...which caused my original defeat during the war and I'm not saying you're obsessed about magic, I'm just saying that mages in general seemed to be obsessed about magic."

[Mayu Inamori]

"SAINT does seem rather obsessed, and fighting among themselves." She sighs and shakes her head. "I see. Well, I trust that your work in the shadows is benevolent." Mayu gave, sitting down on the ground next to him. "I do enjoy our..conversations. But my intuition tells me you have questions about me. Or..perhaps are unsure of how to deal with me."

[Shinji Yakamura]

Shinji nodded, he had not yet met with SAINT and while he wants to he is unsure of how they would react to him, for all he knew they could easily attack him and believe that they are doing the right thing. However they do not seem to pose a threat to the world so he left them well alone as long as they left him and his Lords alone and that was the end of that. He fidgeted a bit when Mayu sat on the ground next to him as she tells him that though she enjoyed the 'conversations' that they had she noticed that he had questions or perhaps uncertainty on how to deal with her. He did not smile as he looked at his hand, "Like I told you...you look like one of my friends from the past, a friend that I very well liked and loved," he told her, "I know that it's not possible for reincarnation unless there is such thing since I know very little about magic, but each time we meet I...I get the feeling that you look and sound more and more like that person...I cannot tear my eyes away from you and I wonder if you truly are her reborn into this era for some reason..." he said to her.

[Mayu Inamori]

Mayu shrugs. "Sou ka." She nods softly. "I don't know, or believe in reincarnation. But, perhaps this is her way of saying to move on. Her spirit being here somehow. Though I'd prefer to think I was my own person." She reaches out her left hand for his. "What did you love about her?"

[Shinji Yakamura]

Shinji nodded as he wondered if he should move on from this. Perhaps it was time for him to stop grieving and continue on his lonely path even if it hurts as he was deep in thought and did not see Mayu reach out to him until her hand was on his as he turned slightly red, "She...she was kind and compassionate, when one of my Lords accidentally stumbled in front of her she did not scream out in terror like most people would do. Instead she was curious about it and thought that it as a spirit of some kind, I found it funny at first, but then she noticed me and gently called out to me...that was perhaps the first time I became interested in a human, as years went by we continued to see each other and she would confide in me all sorts of things including her fear of the future. I slowly grew from interested in her to loving her and maybe if I had told her earlier than her death could have been prevented...just maybe...I don't know, but that's what I loved about her: that she was the first person to actually care for me."

[Mayu Inamori]

"...To care for you as...you. Not this person who has a large burden on their shoulders, or who isn't human, or anything else like that. But, cared for you as you." Mayu murmured, looking over at him, having listened to all of your words.

[Shinji Yakamura]

"Yes, yes that's right," Shinji said, "she never knew my true nature...perhaps that's why she talked to me like another human being and not as...some sort of god or something."

[Mayu Inamori]

"Aa. I have an idea of your true nature..but that doesn't change my opinion of you. Whatever power you might have is simply a tool to be used in one way or another. That choice is up to you..just go with what you regret least. It's what I've done."

[Shinji Yakamura]

"Go with what I've regret least...hmm...I've never actually felt regret before other than that issue," Shinji said, "I simply went along on what I believed would keep the balance of the world in check," Shinji said.

[Mayu Inamori]

"Make sure what you believe is right." Mayu gave, sighing a bit and laying on her back, looking up at the sky. "Such heavy topics...I've had to deal with that a lot."

[Shinji Yakamura]

Shinji gave a wry chuckle, "Everything I did seemed right even when they're not...that's the problem when you have to deal with everyone's problem: eventually you think you're the only one that can get anything done and in the right way," he said as he lay next to her, "you and me both...we've both had to deal with a lot of heavy things."

[Mayu Inamori]

"Ya need a voice of reason. Someone who can remind you of what you're fighting for." Mayu adds with a small chuckle. "I don't have all the answers. But I do my best to help find them."

[Shinji Yakamura]

"I probably do need that...a voice of reason, it's been a while since I actually had one if ever," Shinji agreed as he looked at her, "thank you I would appreciate it," he told her.

[Mayu Inamori]

Mayu remains silent for a bit, merely nodding her head. "May I ask a personal question?" she gave after a few minutes.
