Clothes: He often wears plain shirts usually found in thrift shops during warm weather, and thin zip-up hoodies over white shirts during windy or cold weather; in any season, however, he will wear a baseball cap 75% of the time. He always wears pants, as he hates the concept of human shorts. Henry prefers wearing very inconspicuous and plain clothing, so as to attract the least attention.
Anything Else? He cleans up really nicely. That being said, he rarely cleans up.
Inner Stuff
Likes:
- Chutney. He REALLY loves Chutney.
- Human newspapers. He likes to think of them as “comic books with more words and real pictures instead of drawn art”.
- The Internet. It reminds him of the Hive Mind system of government from his home planet.
Dislikes:
- The Internet. The Hive Mind government system was the reason his planet got destroyed, and The Internet is similar to this old system of government.
- Birds. They used to be a natural predator of his ancestors on his home planet.
- Human Politics. Where is their Human Queen that just dictates what the workers have to do?
Strengths:
- He’s unyielding.
- He’s intelligent, but has a mask of stupidity that distracts people from it.
- He’s highly cooperative in a team situation.
Weaknesses:
- He can’t stay in his “Rider Form” for too long. The reasons behind this will be explained as Henrik’s story progresses.
- His motivations for doing good minimal. Other than “surviving”, he needs something to follow or fight for.
- His sudden capacity for free will and autonomy can leave him confused at times. Expect him to make group decisions slowly.
Goal(s):
- To fit into human society and protect this new “colony” that he’s become part of.
Habits/ Quirks:
- The natural and cultural asexuality of his alien species has left him utterly useless for romantic situations, as he has no cares for flirtatious interactions and views them as unnecessary obstacles that humans must surmount in order to achieve a “mating contract”. He is also still in the process of grasping human culture and norms. He can and will flub human gestures and idioms.
Relationships:
- No significant ones as of yet.
Overview: In summation, Henrik is a kind enough soul who lives in a world that is very much unlike his own. His intentions are pure, but his execution is far from perfect. This is thanks in part to the constant feeling of being the "odd man out" among the humans, as well as the realization that he must make his own path, not the Hive Mind. Not to mention another lingering question--is he truly Henrik Pretorian? Or will he always be the Entomian Soldier G'zhur? If Stranger were an actual Kamen Rider show, its main themes would be identity, alienation, isolation, and becoming who you want to be.
Hero Stuff
Name: Kamen Rider Stranger
Type Of Hero: Rider
Henshin Device: The Genome Glove, a makeshift injection gauntlet that delivers the vials to the various veins of Henrik's right forearm and hand. This device was created from the various spare parts left in his old spacecraft, and was made in order to optimize Henrik's usage of his transformation vials.
Henshin Sequence: Henrik, with the Genome Glove on, raises his right hand crosswise, pointing to the left a la Kamen Rider Ichigo. He then twists his hand so that the back of his right palm is facing forward. He then moves his right arm back to his right, and afterwards clenches his fist and calls out "HENSHIN! STRANGER!". The skin of his human vessel then disintegrates and is absorbed by the Genome Glove, while his belt absorbs whatever Henrik is wearing at the time. The Genome Glove then changes color so as to blend in with the yellow-green hue of Kamen Rider Stranger's carapace armor.
Forms:
- Form Name: Kamen Rider Stranger
Image/ Description: Kamen Rider Stranger
Motif: Humanoid Grasshopper
Color Scheme: Yellow-green and a really small amount of light purple
Transformation: See Henshin Sequence
Fighting Style: Traditional Entomian Martial Arts (Similar to Savate Street Fighting)
Weapons: Biojector Gun Mode (The Biojector can be loaded with various acids or liquid energy to serve as ammo), Glider Wings (Stranger cannot fly, but he can use his “vestigial” wings to glide downwards, Survival Blades (Stranger’s two wings can detach to form dual swords), and Heel Cutters (Stranger’s heels have blade-like appendages that he can extend to enhance his kicks.
Abilities: As Kamen Rider Stranger, his skin is a natural armor that can provide protection against basic attacks, as well as enhance his own melee abilities. He also gains enhanced senses due to his insect nature, which includes night vision, the ability to see in slow motion, and a weak kind of “spidey sense”.
Finisher(s): Rider Pierce Kick, a variation of the classic Rider Kick with Stranger’s heel blades bared in order to pierce through the enemy, and the Rider Bio Bullet, a concentrated shot from the Biojector that takes up an entire vial of Strange Acid. - Form Name: Midnight Lightning
Image/ Description: Midnight Lightning
Motif: Silver Humanoid Insect
Color Scheme: Silver
Transformation: Stranger takes the Biojector and loads it with Strange Vial 3L-3C, injecting it into his neck port as he yells "Lightning Henshin!". Strange Vial 3L-3C is the solution that forces the Entomian body to morph into the built-for-speed glass cannon that is the self-dubbed "Midnight Lightning" form.
Fighting Style: A faster, deadlier form of Traditional Entomian Martial Arts, with an emphasis on quick strikes on vital parts of the body.
Weapons: Lightning Arms, arm blades that vibrate in order to ensure maximum cutting ability, and the Midnight Wings, a pair of new wings that allow Stranger to stay in the air for a short amount of time, at the cost of being unable to remove them for weaponry.
Abilities: Using the Midnight Lightning form, Stranger gains a stronger "spidey sense", now able to make fairly accurate minute predictions about what an opponent could do next in close-quarters combat. Additionally, his heightened senses grow stronger, allowing him to see infrared and ultraviolet for very short amounts of time. The most telling ability of Midnight Lightning, of course, is the doubled speed that Stranger gains, aiding him against slower enemies. However, using this form requires caution, as Midnight Lightning loses much of the durability that vanilla Stranger has.
Finisher(s): Scythe Combination, a near-speed of sound attack combo that involves slicing the enemy repeatedly with Thunder and Lightning. - Form Name: The Gold Experience
Image/ Description: The Gold Experience
Motif: Metallic Insectoid
Color Scheme: Gold, Platinum, and Red
Transformation: Stranger injects himself with a serving of Strange Vial G0-7D, while calling out "Gold Experience!" as a method of distracting himself from the pain. The contents of the vial forces him to assume the heavy-armor Gold Experience.
Fighting Style: No particular style, Stranger just becomes a living wrecking ball.
Weapons: The Auric Carapace, which, despite being defensive in nature, employs the sheer weight and durability of the armored skin t o allow Stranger its use as a weapon by tackling opponents or knocking them around with large swings of his fists.
Abilities: This Golden form of Stranger has no flying or gliding capability whatsoever, nor does he have the particular sensory enhancements of Midnight Lightning. What the Gold form does have is a series of deadened pain receptors and powerful carapace skin that deflects and counteracts various physical attacks. Unfortunately, this also makes him slower than either Stranger or Midnight. His arms retain the attached blades, but now they're used mainly as weapons to knock around enemies.
Finisher(s): Corrosive Cannon - By straight-up drinking a certain amount of Strange Acid, Gold Experience can release it via an arm cannon hidden in his right forearm. This results in a blast of acidic material that disintegrates the enemy.
Other Equipment:
- The Strange Vials (various types of ammunition for the Biojector)
- Entomian Utility Belt (this is where he keeps the Biojector and any vials on hand)
- Wheel Thoraxer (Stranger's Kamen Rider motorcycle)
History
Originally known as “Soldier G’zhur” from his home planet of Hive-01, Henrik Pretorian is the last remaining member of the Entomians, a spacefaring humanoid insect race that resemble grasshoppers, which is ruled by a hive mind composed of three different Entomian Queens, a matriarchal “World Order” that dictates the daily lives of Entomian Workers and Soldiers. Henrik was part of a genetic engineering military project that aimed to speed up the growth process of Entomian Soldiers, which involved injections of different DNA-altering serum that force Entomian glands to produce different hormones that drastically push select Entomian Soldiers to the pinnacle of the strength of their species.
Entomian society was, at the surface, socially and politically stable, with the entire population following the mandate of the Hive Mind. Unfortunately, this Hive Mind soon crumbled as the three Queens, free from the control of the Hive Mind because of their power over it, began to develop rifts between each other as to the direction of Entomian society at large. One especially willful and violent Queen proposed that the Entomians use their spacefaring technology to begin conquering planets inhabited by other sentient alien species, including Earth. Before she could do this, however, the other Queens unleashed civil war against her, and for the first time, the all-powerful Hive Mind was silent. The civil war eventually erupted into nuclear war, as the different queens launched Entomian nuclear weapons against each other, ensuring that the entire population of each enemy faction would be decimated.
Henrik, or G’zhur as he was still known, was a famed super-soldier of the Entomian military, and right before the nuclear holocaust that would engulf his home planet, was to be deployed on a reconnaissance mission to other star systems to find habitable planets that still had no known sentient beings. As the bombs painted the surface of Hive-01 with flames of destruction, G’zhur could do nothing but hop aboard the spacecraft, plotting its course for the nearest planet with an advanced alien society. This planet would be Earth. From that day forth, the only mind he could follow, was his own.
When G’zhur crash-landed on the shores of the continent known as “Africa”, he was immediately greeted by the dying body of Dr. Henrik Pretorian (as it was written on his driver’s license), with no reason as to why this human was there. Pretorian uttered the words, “Hello, stranger,” right before expiring, and the rather surprised and taken aback G’zhur took the human back to his space craft. However, none of the ship’s medical equipment could revive the doctor.
G’zhur reasoned that in order to live on this planet, he would need to look like the humans, and thus injected himself with Henrik Pretorian’s still-usable DNA, allowing him to assume a human form that looked and sounded exactly like the late human. Assuming this identity, he was able to rent out an apartment and purchase basic needs for any living organism by selling the metal from his space craft as scrap, while hiding the crucial equipment underwater by submerging the core parts of the spacecraft.
G’zhur, now living and identifying himself as Henrik, first became Kamen Rider Stranger during a run-in with a local looter gang. Despite wanting to avoid revealing his true form, Henrik’s survival instincts kicked in, leading him to inject himself with his old Entomian DNA, turning him into his insectoid self. After dispatching the ruthless criminals, the child that was kidnapped that saw Henrik called him a “Kamen Rider”. And why wouldn’t the child call him that? The mid-stage Entomian looked like a grasshopper, after all. Henrik adopted the name “Kamen Rider Stranger” in honor of the first words that a human ever uttered to him: “Hello, stranger.”
Side note: While Henrik believes he is the last Entomian alive, it is entirely possible for other Entomians to have escaped from assured death during the last moments of Hive-01.
