"This world is damaged," she said to herself as she sat on a bench at night, looking around. Crews were out, doing what they could for repair, trying to get things under control again. She looked away from it, "This isn't right." She flipped open her Morpher and cast a little magic to move things around. As the confused crew looked around, she slipped into the night, as she was so good at.
"Something powerful did this," she said, "Something magical, maybe?" She was new to magic, but she was sure this could be possible with magic, "Who could have this much power?"

Yasmin was at one of her routine patrols though she did half-heartedly as she yawned and stretched her arms. She would kill for a hot dog right now, but there weren't any around and all the cafes were closed for the night, "This sucks," she said, "wish I was back in Mexico...at least there I could get something to eat," she said to herself as she looked around. The damage from the convergence was still present and although people tried to do the best they could it was still not enough and Yasmin wondered if they would be able to ever go back to their normal life.
However for the moment she would need to focus on the now, there was little use in just simply imagining what the future would look like, sure a little planning helps. But the most important thing was to focus because without focus you lose sight of the big picture and when that happens then that's when things get out of hand. So for now she looked around to see anyone suspicious as she whistled to herself quietly.

Caryn looked around the dark. The night was her friend. She came and went as she pleased, ripping people off, and just doing everything she could to survive. It was different now, not having any of that. The night made her feel nostalgic, though. But dirty. She no longer needed to hide in it.
She looked around and just took a moment for herself. There was no sense of anything following her, not like before, not like before she had her powers. She didn't know how to feel.

For a police officer the darkness usually heralded trouble where Yasmin was from. It was a well known fact that after dark the police officers would go either to their stations or straight home in order to avoid the trouble that would come from staying out too late; there were a myriad of problems that could easily cause them death such as drug dealers, hit men, speeding cars to name just a few. But here the darkness seems to be appealing to some people and Yasmin could see why as it was comforting instead of threatening though it probably depends on who you are and where you are at this moment in time.
She saw someone sitting down and Yasmin became tensed. Other than workers there really should be no reason for anyone to be up here this time of night and she couldn't wonder but think if the person was trouble or not. Preparing for anything she cautiously approached the person, "Hey!" she cried out, "You okay?" she asked.

Caryn tensed slightly and then relaxed as she turned to the voice. Yeah, that was at her. Ok then, she'd just deal with this and be gone quickly enough. Though why this person was asking if she was ok confused Caryn, but she'd figure it out.
"I'm ok," she told the woman, "No need to worry about me."

"Actually there is need to worry about you," Yasmin said, "it's really late at night and there's no one around here so...why are you here?" as she looked around to see if there was anyone else in the area. For all she know this could be a meet and she just managed to stumble into a drug deal or something of that sinister nature. Of course there was also the possibility that she wasn't here to deal with any shady people and this was just a secret rendezvous with her lover or something like that, but one could never know.

"I owe you no explanations," Caryn told her calmly. She had no need to be like that. She could have just said she was out, looking at the damage. That was the truth of the matter, after all. But she chose another approach instead, and she wasn't sure why. Maybe because this person thought she had a right to know Caryn's personal affairs after saying there was nothing wrong. She wasn't sure.

"No need to be snappy I'm just out looking for your wellbeing," Yasmin said that and the fact that the brass would grill me if they find out that you got hurt on my watch she thought to herself. She presented her badge, "I'm a DekaRanger, it's kind of my job to make sure that people are safe, there's been a string of murders around this part and I was patrolling to make sure that nothing bad happens to people; so how about you come closer to the light so I can see you?" she asked still cautious about everything.

"I have no idea what your title is, but you're a cop. You have no legal right to make me do anything, so long as I'm not under arrest. I've done nothing arrest-worthy, so no. I'll be staying where I am and I'll be on my way. For all I know you're the 'murderer' and you're making up a fancy badge to lure innocent people in, and kill them."

Yasmin shrugged, "OK fair point I might be the murderer...you're smart, but I'm not and although I am a cop I also have the right to bring you in for questioning if I see that you're either acting suspiciously or in a suspicious area. But I'm not cause I'm a good cop...so let's just talk from here," she said, "I'm Yasmin, Yasmin Azevedo, what's your name?" she asked.

She sighed, "I'm not giving you my name," she told Yasmin, "If I do, you can just look me up later or something, and that defeats the entire purpose of my remaining anonymous here." She doubted this girl would have anything to make stick. She could probably drag her in, but not for long.

"Don't want to give out your name huh? Any reason that you want to remain anymonous? Hiding from someone or running away?" Yasmin asked approaching the woman as she readied her badge, "or did you do something like you're not supposed to such as breaking curfew or an order?" She probably was grasping at straws here, but she had an idea on how to reveal the woman's identity once she got close enough to her.

"Fine," she said, taking a few steps back, "My name is Katherine Pierce. You can look me up, it's not a fake name or alias." It had been a real person, a girl about her age. She'd died; she was torn apart. Caryn didn't think the body was discovered, due to the horrendous shape it was in. If anything, she was probably listed as missing.

"Really? Is that so?" Yasmin said as she nodded, "Katherine Pierce huh? Alright I'll make sure to look it up once I got to the station," as she prepared the badge before quickly raising it and pressing a button as a flash of light snapped and the woman's face was uploaded straight to the system where a facial recognition check was being prepared. "Hope you don't mind me verifying it," she said casually.

"Fancy," Caryn muttered as she tried to focus on the girl while also rubbing at her eyes. Shit, her night vision was gone, more or less. This wasn't good, she had to get an exit strategy, now. But she was good at that, at least.
