Overview:
Caryn is first and foremost a survivor. She’ll say and do anything to get by and live a rather comfortable life, even if it includes some rather unsavory actions at one time. She’ll power through it for the sake of having come out the better for it, even if she may hate herself in the immediate aftermath.
She is cold and calculating, and willing to throw anyone under the bus. She’s very selfish and far from trustworthy as a result, and people who know her for long periods of time know better than to trust her, or probably even interact with her. She will try to worm her way back into people though, if she needs something.
Her sense of self-preservation is very high, and it’s what drives her above all else. She does wish she could have a normal life, but that’s far behind her, and the possibility is gone so long as she has magical talent. She doesn’t know where to turn, and must force herself to keep going on her own accord (even if that’s by using others/manipulating others, she counts that as on her own).
She is somewhat ruthless in the pursuit of her survival, and will do cruel and vicious things if she has to. She won’t kill, but she will do anything else that she must, and has become a lot less squeamish over things than she once was. She doesn’t like the violent options, but they are available for her.
She takes risks, but always has a plan and remains ever cautious and vigilant. She won’t take a risk if she has no way to protect herself or no plan in motion, unless she’s absolutely desperate and has sunk as low as she can. She’s a pretty good planner, and could be easily converted to a tactician, if she can get over her selfish nature.
She believes life is too cruel to live without love. If she wasn’t running from whatever was behind her, then she’d be much more normal, much more caring and loving. She’s become cold and hard just due to the life she’s been forced to take, but still believes in things like love and family and friendship. She just has none of it, but longs for it back.
Upon taking up her mission as a Magiranger she has become very good at learning about plants and herbs, along with a chemistry aspect to it, finding herself as a natural. She is very in tune with the Earth and able to locate herbs she needs through minimal magical exertion. She can also cause plants to take bloom if she needs them, and finds solace with plants.

History
Caryn’s father was a doctor, and her mother was his nurse. From the start things weren’t good, due to allegations of him forcing himself on her, and then forcing her to keep the child out of fear. He wasn’t there for Caryn after she was born, and her mother later told her about this as she grew up, although the validity is uncertain. She might have just been angry.
Caryn had money at least, and was able to go to decent schools. She didn’t have enough money to go and be a rich brat or anything, just enough to do a few things on the side, like extracurriculars and the like. But that was fine with her, she had friends.
She always felt in tune with the forests and woods, and enjoyed going there. This would later turn out to be her latent magical ability at work.
After graduating high school, she started college, still with money from her mostly absent father. She graduated with a degree in sociology and held an understanding into human nature. It was around this time that she felt like something was after her.
She would later find that friends she’d been with had been attacked, or worse. Something was indeed after her, so she bailed and started to run. She began to exploit people’s natures and do whatever she had to do, not daring to look back or stop running.
After the worlds converged, things got confusing. She adapted quickly and kept on using people who were just as confused as she was, showing no pity deep down. The thing was still after her.
When she finally found her way to the House of M/was brought to the House, the thing was no longer in pursuit. Now she had a place to live, a place to study and grow. In the process she lost most of her lifespan. She's a survivor, losing years off of her life was damaging to her as a person, and the price paid.
She made a contract with a fox familiar by the name of Elijah.
