...or one of them, anyway.  With the Convergence of Worlds, XDI sees an opportunity.  While Zangyack is distracted by the Gobusters and the myriad of other heroes that have appeared, the Dark Buster team is dispatched on a top secret mission to recover enough of a strange metal called Ellium that the resistance leader fills them in on.  Seems that it was overlooked by Zangyack for fleet construction because there wasn't enough of it, but what they don't know is that it's perfect for small-scale ship construction.

Or one big ship.  XDI's plan, if successful, will lead to the Earth gaining its first space-worthy combat ship.  A battleship, in true human style.

I like the idea, but there is a hole; wouldn't it stand to reason that the Dekarangers have spaceships? In fact, they arranged a one person ship as a part of a hostage negotiation. Its a semantics issue, but it's one that needed to be brought up.

A large scale ship capable of space combat as opposed to puddle jumpers with little equipment designed only to go between Earth and the Deka Main Base? They definitely don't have one of those ATM. Consider Jessica Butcher in for that.

It is my opinion that your guys have single person ships which are basically fighters or very small corvette-class as courier ships to go from the Deka Main HQ to various planets including earth. Are the Dekas originally from Earth? If they aren't, my point about the first space-worthy ship stands.

What I'm doing here is contriving a unique, legitimate take on a battleship that isn't just copy-pasta'd from a movie I like. Taking different factors from different places. Putting them all together. Making it work. I did say more notes were coming, and they are, when I'm not so tired.

As for Jessica Butcher, what were you wanting her to do? Assist in retrieving the pre-requisite materials? Assist in building it? Let me know..

Okay, I amend the post to say first space-worthy combat ship.

Seems interesting, about her assisting. How does she find out about this, though? It's a top-secret thing, and I doubt any law enforcement personnel are gonna know about it, or get any information about it if they visit XDI.

Law Enforcement or no, it's Deka's job to keep an eye on the Zangyack given the amount of war crimes they've likely committed.

Notes so far:

-Space metal: Ellium. Among the best there is, but there is not a lot of it. The Resistance found a cache of it. Large enough to do the thing.

-Aqua gives the Dark Busters coordinates, they go to a Resistance secret base.

-Zangyack is also on the trail, but if they don't have the data of the Resistance, they won't have a chance of finding the artifact and weapon parts / schematics for a main cannon that rivals the dual cannons of the Gigant Horse. These are hidden elsewhere.

-The base of the ship / the ship frame (and most likely the name?): The Iowa.
