Overview:
Throughout her life, Elena has never been that good with people. She’s always fumbled her words, been awkward, and not know what to say. She is far from a people person, and is very shy around people, which has helped lead her to be an introvert and keep to herself more than anything. She has less difficulty with texting, emailing, etc., since, well, it’s not face to face. Even phone calls she has some difficulty with (unless it’s work. She’s actually able to focus on work).
She is rather nerdy, and owns up to that. She can have conversations about various things like comics or science fiction shows, at least those that interest her. She favors Pokemon and especially the Eevee family, and has some plush Eevees in her room. She often spends her free time playing Pokemon games when she can, because those are fun, and there’s a lot of mods out there online.
She can become rather emotional when she gets caught up in things, and from emotional to angry, to the point where she just leaves, partially because of her shy and introverted nature. She can be reasoned with, but she needs time alone to come down and think things through after something like this happens.
She thinks a lot, and tends to overthink things. She’s analytical and focused, but she likes to be that way, because then she thinks about people more and figures out what they’re doing. She can just go with it, which doesn’t go well, or she can sit back, spend time thinking, then choose, and come out the better for it. That’s how she sees things.
She’s intelligent, and good with computers and networking. She’s a hard worker, and if she says she’ll get something done and when she’ll have it done, it’ll be done in that time. She doesn’t let things distract her from her work, and keeps a professional attitude with things.
She has a thing for drawing, although she’s not very good. She figures she should improve as she goes, but it’s not really going well. She also really enjoys history, and when she reads, she often reads books on various eras, favoring wars, because it feels like more gets done.
She has a hard time opening up to new people as a result of being raped. Given that she was already shy and introverted, she often will only do the very minimal with new people before leaving or doing whatever else she has to do. She knows it’s not entirely rational, but to her it is. She also doesn’t talk about it and just tries to move on with her life. She also very much dislikes being touched.

History
She was born in Soledad, but moved to New York after a year. Her parents didn’t do much in regards to their heritage, so Elena never really grew up with anything like that. She just grew up as an American, and went through school as normal, making a few friends.
She always had trouble with people, and was mostly on her own. Her friends tried to get her to be friends with their friends, and so forth, but it didn’t work. Elena was just better off as she was, and even lost some of her friends this way. But she was more or less ok with it. That’s just who she was.
She started to wear glasses at age ten, and got into Pokemon and comics. Later she’d start to get into things like science fiction, Doctor Who, etc. She became something of a nerd, but found some people to talk about this stuff with.
After she graduated from high school she began to go into computer work in college. She was hired Doctor Grayson Hastings and his company. She worked happily there and began to do her college work online, figuring she’d might as well finish.
Two years ago she was asked on a date by a handsome man she met on the subway who traveled the same route with her every day. The date went well, but after he took her home he forced his way inside her apartment and raped her for two days before he finally left. She never reported it and he was never arrested, to her knowledge.
She continues to work at Hastings, and after the Convergence occurred, she’s not sure what to make of the new world.
