Annie and Hayley had gone up to try and find a Beyond. She wasn't with either side of the battle, but her readings were a little scary. The two girls had been sent to try and coax her to join with them, mostly because they Annie was perceived as the best one to be convincing someone. She'd chosen Hayley to come with her, since she couldn't be alone. They'd followed the clues to an old apartment building, which Annie stood in the stairwell of, looking up.

Hayley stood around the corner, "How do you want to do this?" she asked quietly, "Teleport in? Walk in? One of each?"

"Teleporting in could spook her. I say one of each." Annie replied. "One person to try and seem non-threatening and one to block exits."

"I think I'll walk." Annie began climbing the stairs with that. The Beyond was on the fourth floor of 10, or so they believed. And hoped.

Hayley began to climb with her. If she teleported now, the timing was off. If she waited, she might not know when. Best to climb with Annie.

Annie sent out some feelers when they reached the fourth floor and signaled a door. It felt like the right one. She moved to the outside of the door quietly, ready to go whenever Hayley ported.

Annie opened the door somewhat slowly. Inside was a young woman, appearing to be no older than 21, sitting on a bed. "Who are you? How did you find me?" She was obviously scared.
"Relax. We're friends. We're like you. We want to help." Annie responded.

"You look like you're with that doctor guy. His people came too. I got rid of them." She replied.
"We're not with Hastings." Annie was a little creeped out by the feeling that had emerged when she said she'd "dealt with them". But it was no matter.

Ok, she sounded somewhat hostile. Hayley began to try to ready her time powers.

She got a sense of what Hayley was doing immediately. She slammed into Hayley's head, freezing her body. Annie could feel what she was doing. "Please, don't!" She tried to plead with her.
"Why was she about to use her powers?" The woman asked, her eyes cold.

Hayley struggled, trying to move, trying to force the other woman out of her mind.

"Please, she meant no harm, just let her go." Annie tried to explain.
"Those others tried to use their powers too." She suddenly forced her way into Annie's mind and froze her body, before forcing both girls into a neutral stance. Annie tried to struggle, but her body simply didn't respond. She wasn't good with the basic powers; she was screwed unless Hayley could do something.
