Overview: Mark is a take no shit kind of guy. It's his way or the high way. He's a loner and he likes it that way. No partners, ho help of any kind, just him against the universe. But just because he's cold and kind of jerky on the outside, does not mean he doesn't have a little heart of gold buried deep within him. He's not a bad guy, he's a Space Sheriff and its his job to protect our solar system from any that wish to harm it.

History

Mark didn't come from a wealthy family. His parents were broke and soon abandoned their children to the streets. Mark had only one person he could truly count on to not try to screw him over - his twin sister Mariya. They grow up on the means streets and back alleys of Novosibirsk, in a Russian recently freed from the grip of Communism. The twins cared little for the democracy and capitalism that followed. It did not help them at all, it did not put food in their starving bellies so they soon resorted to thievery.

The twins were only fifteen when it happened. A sphere of light appeared from the sky and took Mariya away. Mark wanted to claw tooth and nails towards the very heavens themselves, but found himself weak and helpless. It was then that Mark encountered a silver man from beyond the stars. His name was Retsu Ichijouji and he was a Space Sheriff.

Mark spent the next five years training underneath Retsu at the Galactic Federation Academy, with the goal of becoming a Space Sheriff much like his mentor. But that wasn't the only goal Mark had in mind. He knew for a fact that some kind of alien menace had kidnapped Mariya and he was determined to find her.

He was twenty two when he obtained the title of Space Sheriff. He knew his mentor would be proud if he could see him. Retsu had died a few years back on a solo mission. The exact details were unknown to Mark. He felt like he lost a father, but would not mope around and instead honor his memory - as the next Gavan.

Mark was assigned to a far away solar system from his home. He spent the next few years battling intergalactic criminals and organized mobs. It was only recently that he got the call that the Space Empire Zangyack, scourge of the Federation, had set its sights on his home planet..
