"Give me one reason why I should introduce you to the team." If alarm bells weren't going off before, they sure as hell were now. He knew way too much. Not even the Shadow Line would have shared that information, unless they wanted him to do something to her. Noir would keep that close to her chest unless she wanted to do something, and Noir would do something this important herself. First off, she wanted to know how he'd learned she was a Shadow, and then she wanted to know EXACTLY what he wanted, to a T.

"Because I have a Morpher," he held up his wrist, "When did someone who's a Shadow use the powers of the Rainbow Line unless they were reformed? I don't even know if it would be possible to do it otherwise."

"We have had someone steal a Morpher." She didn't know how he got his hands on that thing. That antisocial chick had gotten a Rainbow Pass in the trash. He might've killed another member of the Rainbow Line and taken it.

He shook his head, "Ok, ok, I see why you're wary of me. I guess I assumed you'd be the least wary of your team. What would you have me do to prove myself?"

That hit a chord. "In what BIZARRO FUCKING UNIVERSE would I not be wary?" Annabelle snapped. "You know exactly what I am. It took me 9 years and the intervention of my mother the monster to get me to reveal that to the people I trust WITH MY LIFE! The fact that you know that scares the shit out of me, because that is the one of my deepest secrets. I want you to explain exactly who you are, what you want with me, and why I shouldn't turn you into a living doll right where you fucking stand!"

He shook his head, "If I tell you everything, then...," he sighed, "I can't. I'm sure you're questioning why I know your secret, and who exactly I am. If you question me again, I'll tell you, but it's not something I would want to say, for my on personal reasons. But I am on your side. Whether you believe me or not, this is the truth, and I thought another Shadow Line associate might be able to understand me."

"When you casually drop my darkest secret like it's, like it's nothing, I am on Defcon 5. And for the record, I'm not "another Shadow Line associate". You have given me no reasons to trust you, and all the reason in the world to end you where you stand." Annabelle began using both of her hands to gesture, leaving a thin black line around her neck. For all Annabelle knew, this guy wanted to keep her chained in a basement to make a skin suit or something worse.

"I died as a child. I'm nothing more than a spirit being kept around by the Shadow Line for my imagination powers," he told her, "That's why I know these things! Because I'm dead! There, that's my secret, that's the answer. I'm sick of being their pawn!"

Being dead seemed like thin justification. It seemed like an invention. Annabelle couldn't imagine what possible use the Shadow Line could have for Imagination, the force that powered their enemies, that opposed their very existence. Imagination ran counter to their darkness, the candle in a shadowed room, and the Shadow Line had no reason she could comprehend to keep it on hand. Her hand returned to her neck.

"You know what, go ahead then, I don't care. Do what you want to me." He tore his Morpher off and threw it over towards her. He threw his arms out, "Go on then. Do it."

Annabelle paused. She thought for a long moment. Her hand dropped after. "What do you want from me, then?" She asked quietly.

"If they accept you for who you are, then going through you seemed like the most logical way of fighting with your team. I just want you to help me join."

"I'm not entirely certain they accept me myself. I can try, but I don't know what sort of success I'll get." She really hated this guy, but in a way, she'd needed him. Someone to make her face her own existence, stare herself square in the eyes and accept the reality.

He nodded to her once, "If you try, that's all that matters to me," he told her.

Annabelle turned to leave, but stopped. "Don't tell anyone else. About my... inhuman status. I'd rather it not spread any further than it already has."
