In the wake of the Convergence event, the world is in chaos. Insane events happened all over the globe all at once as two worlds collided and became one, and in the aftermath, the aftershocks linger.
To combat this threat, the UN Governments authorized the creation of a panglobal rescue organization, designed to respond to events the world over that municipal rescuers are unable to handle. That organization had a long, official name, but it became far more famous for it's nickname; Lightspeed, for how fast they responded.
As they worked, however, something more sinister began to emerge. A group of beings, claiming to be demons trapped in the void between worlds, began appearing at their rescues. They claimed the Convergence event released them from their extra dimensional prison, and they were here to reclaim what they had lost; the Earth itself. Lightspeed began gearing up for war against this clan of demons, their mission changing slightly.
With the change of mission came a change in operational style. The operational unit was divided into two teams. The Rescue Unit were to handle all rescue and aid-related duties, and are equipped as such. They are not intended for combat purposes, but if the need calls, their rescue tools can be used as weaponry. The Combat Unit was given entirely new equipment designed solely for combat purposes, mostly in the pursuit of defending the Rescue Unit as they attend to their duties. They were given new equipment and are led by the Titanium Ranger.
