"Thank you," the crows said before she touted the whip, "now let's see if we can stop this thing..." as she began to meld with the shadows and attacked it with his own shadow as it turned into spikes.

"Come on, we need to keep moving!" Caryn told them as she walked over, "We need a way to bind it. My spells aren't working." She didn't bother to introduce herself or explain anything.

The monster appeared behind a building nearby, just standing there while the other Ranger flew off.

Using the shadows she began to tie bindings on it and root it to the ground to stop it from moving, "This won't last forever," one of the ravens said, "you better finish it off quickly."

The monster looked down, "Huh?"
Caryn began to run towards it, prepping a spell.

He was rooted! Producing his blades, Green plots a very specific trajectory and fires his hooks, grappling onto something unseen past the monster. He comes hurtling in for a spin slash strike aimed at the monster.

The monster giggled as he vanished into a portal once again.
"Shit!" Caryn shouted, "Why can't we hold him down?"

"The portals are his trump card." he says simply, standing there, Dark Blades in hand as he expands the exceptional hearing capabilities of his suit, closing his eyes. He would see if there was a pattern to his movements, since the alien was being cocky so far.
