The universe is vast and diverse, with numerous new forms of interaction - and opportunities to crime. Murder, rape, kidnapping and other crimes are by no means localized to Earth. And that is why the Galactic Federation exists, to protect the galaxy from interstellar criminals and alien threats. On Earth, those fine officers used to go by the name Men In Black, but now they're called the Special Police Dekaranger.
They are the best of the best from across numerous countries and departments, and they are the thin blue lien that stops alien criminals from harming Earthlings. And now they are more important than ever, because in the wake of the war with the Zangyack their the men and women on the front lines.
Make no mistake, there are SPDs stationed on a great number of planets, but they aren't the ones that this story will be focusing on. Based in downtown Chicago, these cops are chosen from across the world to be given the Changers.
