The metal man was hit once more and was now on both knees.
"You're only postponing the inevitable.." said the voice, "This is planet and everyone on it is mine.."
It began to laugh maniacally only for the truck to zoom by and hit right into it.

She was about to fire another shot before the truck came by and finished the job for her. She checked the remains of the machine, a burnt corpse of broken wires and machinery clearly not of this world, before finding what appeared to be its head, still twitching and simulating movement, before double-tapping it.
"Next time I'll just stay in bed" she muttered before checking on the driver of the truck. "Sir, are you alright?"

"Just fine, little miss," the trucker nodded, "Just a little shook up is all. What did I hit? Looked like a man, a really big man!"

"If you'd call an alien killer death machine a man, sure", she said. "Thank you for your assistance, I hope your truck didn't get too banged up".

"Nah, hit a bear once, it'll buff out all the same," nodded the man, clearly a little tipsy, "An alien you say? You sayin the Earth is under attack?"

"Dunno" replied Sonya, remembering what the machine had told her during their battle. "All I know is it showed up in my place and tried to capture me, whoever sent it said he had also been kidnapping other people. Not sure if it's Zangyack, never seen that type of machine before."

"You seem to pretty capable miss, you don't mind me telling you so. What do you plan on doing now?"

"Well, first I'm going back to my place and see if that thing didn't blow anything else up, and then I'm going to find out who is sending those machines and why", she replied.
"Anyway, thanks again, I owe you one". With that, Sonya set off.

As Sonya ran off, several more spheres loomed up in the sky, setting their sights on humanity below..
"It has only just begun.."
