Caryn ran to Sonya as fast as she could and slid to a stop near her, lifting her axe and looking around before turning to the other woman. "I can help you with that," she said, looking back around once more, "We just need to get out of here first. But that monster should be taken out before we go..."

Sonya snapped back "Quit talking and keep your eyes on the water!", she yelled before getting up to her feet, facing the opposite direction. Apologies later, kill monster now.

"Fine, fine," Caryn muttered, "I guess that's what I get for helping..."

Sonya didn't reply, keeping her focus on where the creature was coming next.
With all the attention turned towards the sides of the pier, no one precluded the possibility it would attack underneath it as it rose up, intending on bursting though and dragging one of its prey into the cold sea.

Her reflexes weren't fast enough as it came up. She swung her axe down on instinct, but figured she was going to be too slow. But still, she had to try to stop it from whatever it was going to attempt to do.

The creature had lunged for Caryn's leg, hoping to weaken her by impaling her with its claws before dragging her down below, her preemptive strike however forced it to shield the blow with its right arm.
This in left it open for Sonya to swing with her own weapon at the creature's left shoulder, a weak point she had gathered from the last time she encountered one of its type.
Workworkworkwork, she thought frantically as she drove the axe through.

Caryn looked down, thankful that the claw had just missed her. She shouted and swung her axe again with the other girl, hoping to do some damage that might slow it down.

The creature barely had enough time to glance the blow from Sonya's blade, which left its right shoulder open for Caryn's strike to go through, peeling apart both scale and flesh.
Sonya wasted no time and swung towards the opening in its armor.

Caryn couldn't get a proper angle, so she moved, coming up behind Sonya. She didn't strike this time, since Sonya was kind of in the way, but that was her own fault for moving to get another angle.

The axe dug right into the creature's arm, howling in pain it tried to limp off back into the sea before Sonya took another swing at its leg.

Caryn began to try to cast another spell, once more relying on vines, hoping to be able to drag the monster back and pin it down, now that it seemed weakened.

The vines coiled around the creature, dragging it down to the pier as it howled and squirmed in vain. In any other case, one would consider this scene animal cruelty. As this was a living bioweapon engineered by the Zangyack to attack and devour humans, no such sympathy as Sonya delivered blow after blow on the creatures back, until it howled no more as its corpse dissipated, a safety mechanism engineered by the Zangyack to prevent others from performing an autopsy.
Her blood full of adrenaline, Sonya took a few breaths to calm down, it was not the first time she had gone into what some would call a "battle high" after engaging in a fight. The pain in her side returned as she clutched her wound with her left before turning to Caryn "Thank you".

Caryn watched, a bit shocked by this woman's attack. Not that a woman could be wild and vicious, but just the sheer surprise of her brutality to the monster. Sure, it had it coming, but still. She nodded as she walked towards Sonya, "Same," she told her, drawing her Morpher out, "I want to help with your wound."

"I would appreciate it, thank you". She replied, wincing as she let her hand go. "Sorry I snapped at you before".

She nodded, "It's ok," she told her, "I get it." She undid her Morph and began to use her Morpher to summon herbs and other materials, so that she could mix them.
